These 3.4 million professional men and women not only deliver our goods safely, securely and on time, they also keep our highways safe.
NTDAW 2015 ideas from the ATA
√Plan a terminal tour or a ride-a-long with your local or federal elected officials or invite the media to come out and show off your facility and learn about the trucking industry
√Invite the media or elected officials to your NTDAW events – let them meet the drivers; learn how safe they are; and THANK THE DRIVERS for delivering America
√Host a barbeque for your drivers and/or your drivers and their families
√Hang a banner where not just your drivers can see – but the public can see as well
√Volunteer to help your state trucking association with their NTDAW efforts
√Send a personalized note to your drivers thanking them for a job well done
√Call into local radio stations, talk about your safe professional team & ask the public to thank them
√Secure raffle items and host a raffle for your professional drivers
√Wash windows as the drivers pull out of your facility
√Pack a healthy snack for the drivers to take with them on the road—include a thank you note

√Incent Operations Personnel to bring drivers in to terminals (minimum set to 50% or greater!)
√Make a compiled list available to drivers of all retail locations offering specials to drivers all week
√Send a note to your customers about the significance of this week and encourage participation
√Make available all week to take on the road 24/7 fresh fruit, chilled water bottles and hot coffee
√Clean all driver lounges and increase perks like showers, laundry, haircuts, etc. for the week
√Your Opinion Counts! Place suggestion boxes in lounges and make available pens/input sheets
√Send a special note to drivers’ families recognizing them for supporting your driver while away from home—they too contribute significantly to your business, our industry and their communities!
